Elena Layton, MSW, LISW-CP.

Licensed Independent Social Worker-Clinical Practice

Elena grew up in a small town in New Jersey, where she spent much of her childhood and early adult years playing competitive soccer. During her junior year of high school, Elena served on her first mission trip to the Dominican Republic and she credits this trip for sparking her passion for helping others. Elena has her Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW) from Widener University, holds a clinical license in social work (LISW-CP) and is certified in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).

Elena’s professional background has been focused on (but not limited to) helping people reach their individual goals by identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns, reconciling relationships, and aiding clients in developing healthy problem-solving skills and effective communication techniques. Elena believes it is vital to the therapeutic process to honor the individual as unique and to tailor her therapeutic approach accordingly. She accomplishes this by taking a holistic lens that considers a person’s biological, psychological, social, and spiritual aspects and by using her holistic assessment to identify the client’s specific needs, strengths, and goals. This allows Elena to better support, guide, and inspire her clients in their journey toward their own goals and healing.
