Shannon Scott, M.A.

Shannon Scott graduated with a B.S. in Psychology and Communications from Virginia Tech. While teaching at a small private school, she realized how much she enjoyed helping her students process through tough issues.  This led her to seek a Master’s degree in Counseling from Regent University, where she learned how to integrate faith and clinical counseling. Shannon was licensed in Virginia in Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy, and worked in a private practice in Williamsburg for 3 and a half years.

Upon moving to South Carolina, Shannon worked for the Department of Mental Health for 4 years with a diverse caseload of clients dealing with a variety of mental health issues. She maintained a private practice specializing in Christian Counseling in Goose Creek before joining Life Resources. In addition, Shannon has enjoyed teaching undergraduate psychology courses as an adjunct professor at Charleston Southern University. She has advanced training in Emotion Focused Therapy- the most scientifically proven model to date for successful marriage counseling. 

Shannon is married to Pastor Ryan Scott and they have 3 children together. In her spare time, she enjoys writing and spending time with her family. Shannon has a particular interest in topics related to Identity in Christ and is available to speak to groups on this and a variety of other topics, including parenting, marriage, depression and changing negative thought process. Shannon sees clients age 10 through adult, primarily through the Summerville office.

Individual Sessions: (50-60 minutes)  $140
Child (minor)/ Family or Marriage session: (50-60 min) $185

Extended sessions require an additional fee and may not be billable to insurance.
